Key learning outcomes This proposed programme aims to provide advanced education and research activities for doctoral students focused on a specific field of chemistry and/or environmental protection technology. With the intensive development of industry, agriculture, transport, medicine and other fields, there is a constant impact on the environment, considering the production of waste and wastewater or the release of undesirable substances into the air, rock environment or water. The study programme provides a thorough analysis of the latest scientific literature and intensive experimental activities of such a level that will ensure the application of results in the international scientific environment and that will allow their practical application in real conditions. The goal of the study is to improve environmental protection including a rational approach to the use of natural resources, as tools for the sustainable development of modern society and the gradual transition to a circular economy. The study programme is based on knowledge of chemistry, chemical technology, physical and analytical chemistry, and in relevant cases also on knowledge of other engineering and biological disciplines, so as to affect the complex multidisciplinary nature of the issues. Typical topics of the study programme include waste utilization, its treatment and minimization, chemical and biological wastewater treatment, chemical and biological transformations taking place in wastewater, surface or groundwater, soil, rock environment and industrial processes, as well as degradation and removal of contaminants as well as the area of ??research of the occurrence of contaminants in the environment, including the use and development of analytical methods for their determination.
Specific admission requirements Successful completion of Master's studies, officially certified diploma.
Specific provisions for recognition of prior learning General Rules for the Recognition of Previous Studies
