Course content
1. Industrial and special wastewater. 2. Mechanical methods of water purification, filtration processes and equipment used, sedimentation processes, hydrocyclones. 3. Decomposition of stabilized emulsions. Separation of light particles - gravity separators for fats and oils. 4. Flotation, electroflotation, combination of coagulation and flotation. 5. Neutralization. 6. Magnetic separation. Extraction. Stripping (technical implementation, examples of use). 7. Adsorption - types of sorbents (biosorbents). 8. Precipitation reaction - process characteristics, precipitation of heavy metals, precipitation of anions, examples of use of precipitation. 9. Chemical oxidation and reduction. Advanced oxidation processes. Electrochemical processes. 10. Ion exchangers. 11. Treatment of water by membrane processes. 12. Biological aerobic cleaning - process characteristics, technological parameters of activation, types of activation, aeration, technological modifications of activation processes. 13. Biological anaerobic treatment - comparison of aerobic and anaerobic processes, factors affecting mechanization, anaerobic reactors. 14. Thermal wastewater treatment processes: distillation, evaporation, wet oxidation, supercritical oxidation condition, combustion.
