Key learning outcomes The degree course is aimed at scientif ic research and independent research activities in the f ield of research or development. Ph.D. students are trained to apply practically theoretical knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry, general knowledge of technological processes as well as knowledge of computing and information technology. The above f ields focus on the specif ic properties of polymeric materials including the latest knowledge about ecology. In the course of their studies, Ph.D. students must prove their ability to solve complicated professional issues in an inventive way. They are also expected to present the outcomes of their research at international conferences and to publicise them in professional journals abroad.
Specific admission requirements Successful discussion about the chosen topic of the PhD thesis, general knowledge of the particular field of science and successful pass in the entrance examination.
Specific provisions for recognition of prior learning General Rules for the Recognition of Previous Studies
Qualification requirements and regulations Completed higher education - Masters dergee
Profile of the programme A study programme is aimed at scientific research and independent creative activities in the area of research or development, or independent theoretica
Persistence requirements Školitel pravidelně na konci akademického roku hodnotí plnění podmínek stanovených v Individuálním studijním plánu studenta. Po vyjádření studenta Oborová rada doporučuje pokračování ve studiu v následujícím akademickém roce.
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples Graduates are technically-oriented specialists and have necessary knowledge for the exact description of processing and physical and chemical properties of polymeric materials and their products. They might work in various positions, such as project managers in institutes of basic and applied research and development (science and technology parks, centres for technology transfer, centres of applied research, etc.) or as heads of research and development departments in companies dealing with material processing, i.e. plastics and rubber industry, and related branches such as consumer goods, automobile, and electrical engineering industries and others.
