Tato diplomová práce se zabývá výzvami a problémy, kterým čelí zahraniční studenti na Univerzitě Tomáše Bati ve Zlíně v souvislosti s jim poskytovanými službami. Výzkumný přístup uplatňuje smíšené výzkumné metody a identifikuje nejčastější problémy a výzvy zahraničních studentů. Na základě výsledků jsou navržena doporučení pro zlepšení uvítacích služeb na UTB, která zahrnují vylepšení jazykové podpory, inovace v poskytování informací, poskytování podpory pro akademické přizpůsobení a podporu sociální integrace. Expertní validace potvrzuje dopad navrhovaných změn. Budoucí práce by se mohla zaměřit na vyhodnocení účinnosti navržených změn a identifikaci dalších oblastí pro zlepšení.

This thesis explores the challenges faced by international students at Tomas Bata University in relation to the university's Welcome services. A mixed-methods research approach was used, including 16 qualitative interviews and online questionnaires. Based on the results, evidence-based recommendations were developed to improve Welcome services - such as improving language support services, enhancing information provision, providing support for academic adjustment, promoting social integration, and providing cultural training and support. Expert validation was obtained through feedback from university staff. Future work could include evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed changes. Keywords include international students, welcome services, and qualitative research.

Conduct a bibliographic research on the marketing of welcome services in tertiary educational systems, cross-culture communication differences and specifics of communication differences between European countries and countries of global south. On the basis of the theoretical definition of the studied problem, formulate the research questions and objectives of the thesis.
2. Analyse the current state of Welcome services provided by Tomas Bata University in Zlín. Define the individual target groups of the welcome services and find out their information needs by means of a marketing survey. Confront the universities communication activities aimed at individual target groups and the level of awareness of the institution and its product among these target groups. Formulate the strengths and weaknesses of the current state of welcome services of the set university. Answer the research questions based on the research findings and analysis.
3. Based on the results of the analysis, develop a proposal for an upgrade of welcome service provided by the Tomas Bata University in Zlín. Evaluate the expected effectiveness of the communication according to your proposal to individual target groups and the question of its financeability and staffing. Indicate the possibilities of implementation in practice or define possible future work on this topic.

Předseda komise přivítal studenta na státních závěrečných zkouškách.
Student představil zkušební komisi svou diplomovou práci dle předepsané struktury. Byly přečteny posudky vedoucího a oponenta práce. Student dostal prostor vyjádřit se k připomínkám a zodpovědět na níže položené otázky.
