Práce se zaměřuje na problematiku projevů rasismu ve vězeňství. První, teoretická část pojednává o tom, co je rasismus a rasová diskriminace v historii i v současné společnosti. Druhá část porovnává rasistické projevy a rasovou diskriminaci v podmínkách výkonu trestu odnětí svobody v České republice a v USA. V závěrečné části jsou nastíněna některá možná opatření v oblasti prevence prostřednictvím legislativy, soudnictví, výchovy, médií.

This dissertation is focused on problems of the racism signs within the prison system. The first- theoretical part - discusses what mean racism and race discrimination in history and also in current society. In the second part the racism signs and race discriminaton are compared within the conditions of the sentence serving in the Czech Republic and the USA. The conclusion part outlines some possible steps in the area of prevention by means of legislation, justice, education and media.
