Annotation Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na původní obyvatele Severní Ameriky, konkrétně srovnává život kmene Siouxů před a po událostech u Wounded Knee. Je rozdělena do tří celků: historický přehled, Siouxové po Wounded Knee a Siouxové dnes. První část, historický přehled, popisuje strukturu kmene Siouxů, jejich způsob života a jak je ovlivnil příchod Evropanů. Druhá část, Siouxové po Wounded Knee, pojednává o důležitých událostech v životě Siouxů ve 20. století. Třetí část, Siouxové dnes, se soustřeďuje zejména na životní podmínky v rezervaci Pine Ridge.
Annotation in English The bachelor thesis is focused on aborigines of North America, concretely it compares life of the Sioux tribe before and after the events at Wounded Knee. It is separated into three units: historical overview, the Sioux after Wounded Knee and the Sioux today. The first part, historical overview, describes structure of the Sioux tribe, their way of living and how they were influenced by arrival of the Europeans. The second part, the Sioux after Wounded Knee, deals with important events in Sioux life in the 20th century. The third part, the Sioux today, is concentrated mainly on the living conditions on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
