Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí - teorie a analýza. Teorie se zabývá životopisem a dílem autora, charakteristikou modernismu a tzv. 'proudu vědění'a obsahem knih. V analýze je vysvětlen koncept Lawrencova pojetí sexuality, význam přírodních prvků v dílech, vztahy hlavních hrdinů a porovnání obou děl.

The thesis is divided into two parts - theory and analysis. Theory deals with the author's biography and works, characteristics of modernism and 'stream of consciousness', content of the books. In analysis, there is an explanation of Lawrence's concept of sexuality, importance of natural elements in the novels, relatiohships of the protagonists and comparison of the books.
