V úvodu tato práce vysvětluje co je to vlastně veřejný prostor a mapuje různé způsoby dělení veřejných prostorů. V hrubých rysech postihuje jejich historický vývoj a zabývá se některými významnými realizacemi z minulosti i současnosti.
Nové řešení okolí slavičínské radnice pak hledá vyjádření autorovy představy o nové podobě a funkci konkrétního místa, v souvislosti s jeho estetickou kvalitou. Navrhované řešení se snaží vytvořit multifunkční prostor, který nebude jen místem kudy se prochází, ale nabídne různé možnosti k odpočinku a relaxaci. Takovýto veřejný prostor by měl žít svým vlastním životem i když skončí pracovní doba na radnici. Součástí navrhovaného řešení je i hmotová studie objektu nové radnice.

In the introduction this thesis explains what a public place is and it describes the different ways of public places division. This project roughly deals with the historical development of public places and it is concerned with some important realizations from the past and the present.
The new solution for the Slavičín town hall’s surrounding is found in the author’s expressing ideas of the new design and function of the concrete place and its aesthetic quality. The suggested solution shows the multifunctional place which will not be only a place for walking, but also a place of a rest and relaxation. Such public place should have its own life even if the hours of work in the town hall are ended. The part of the suggested solution is a study of the new town hall building.
