Paliativní péče je důležitým aspektem v případech smrtelně nemocných pacientů. Její úroveň ovlivňuje poslední chvíle jak pacienta samotného, tak i jeho nejbližších. V práci jsou rozebrány teoretické základy paliativní péče a komunikace, které jsou následně doplněny
o výzkum provedený pomocí rozhovorů s paliativními sestrami. Cílem této práce je porozumět problematice, která se pojí s komunikací mezi sestrou a pacientem. Na základě nasbíraných dat jsou popsány faktory, které ovlivňují efektivní a kvalitní poskytování paliativní péče pacientům a jejich rodinám. Výsledek tohoto zkoumání se může stát podkladem pro vývoj intervencí a vzdělávacích programů pro zdravotníky.

Palliative care is an important aspect in cases of terminally ill patients. The level of palliative care affects the last moments of the patient and their loved ones. The thesis discusses the theoretical foundations of palliative care and communication, which are then complemented by research conducted through interviews with palliative care nurses. The aim of this thesis is to understand the issues connected to the communication between the nurse and the patient. Based on the data collected, factors that influence the effective and high-quality provision of palliative care to patients and their families are then described. The outcome of this investigation can become the basis for the development of interventions and educational programs for health care professionals.
