Tato práce se věnuje použití polvinylchloridu (PVC) v lékařství a současným trendům v této oblasti použití. V práci jsou zmíněny rovněž způsoby výroby a vlastnosti PVC, a to jak kladné tak záporné. Zběžně jsou popsány používané přísady, kterými jsou stabilizátory, pigmenty, plniva a změkčovadla. V další části se práce zabývá toxickými látkami, které vznikají během výroby, používání a při likvidaci PVC. Tyto látky mohou zásadně ohrozit zdraví lidí. Součástí práce je i seznam firem zabývajících se výrobou a distribucí zdravotnických potřeb z PVC a seznam odběratelů těchto výrobků. Závěrem jsou zmíněny i možné alternativy materiálů, které jsou schopny PVC nahradit a současné světové trendy v této oblasti využití PVC.

This work is being engaged of using polyvinylchloride (PVC) in medicine and presented trend in this application field. Production methods and PVC features, namely positive and negative, are mentioned in this work. Marginally used additions such as regulators, pigments, extenders and softening agents are described. The next part of work is focused in toxic materials arising during production, using and disposal of PVC. These chemical substances can seriously endanger people’s health. As a part of work list of companies, which manufacture and distribute PVC sanitary goods, and list of customers is given. Finally materials capable to supply PVC and today’s worldwide trends in this field of application are mentioned.
