Cílem práce je přiblížit čtenáři závažný problém energetické bezpečnosti a jejího zajištění na počátku 21. století.
V úvodních částech práce, je definována energetická bezpečnost jako pojem, její význam a základní způsob dělení. V dalších částech je věnován prostor zhodnocení úrovně zajištění energetické bezpečnosti v ČR a EU a politické snahy a nástroje k jejímu dalšímu rozvoji.
V závěru práce je potom popsán stav zásob nejdůležitějších energetických komodit a budoucí výhled jejich využití. Práce je zakončena praktickým náhledem na průběh plynové krize z počátku roku 2009 a pokusem o vizi české energeticko-bezpečnostní budoucnosti.

The aim of this work is to create further awareness to the reader of the problem of energetical safety and its security at the beginning of 21 century.
In the preamble of the work there is energetical safety that is defined as a concept, its meaning and the basic way of division. Other parts of the work are devoted to the estimation of the level of security of the energetical safety in the Czech Republic and the European Union and also political endeavours and instruments to its further development. Finally the stock level of the most important energetical commodities, is described in the work and also the future viewpoint of their usage. The work is also based oh the practical view of the process of the gas crisis at the beginning of 2009 and the attempt to visualize the Czech energetical safety in the future.
