Tato práce zkoumá populární vyobrazení umělé inteligence a robotů (zvláště pak humanoidních) v americké kinematografii. Zkoumá je poukazováním na společné, ale i rozličné rysy ve filmech, a porovnává je ve vztahu k přístupům k moderním technologiím reálného světa. Ponořením se do minulosti by mělo být možné vysvětlit, proč jsou jistá témata prezentována ve filmech tak populární. Práce se snaží pochopit souvztažnosti mezi fikcí a reálnými problémy, aktuálně řešenými ve Spojených státech amerických.

This work examines popular representations of artificial intelligence and robots (especially humanoid) in American cinematography. It does so by identifying common features among the films, as well as those which are different, and connecting them with the real-world attitudes towards modern technology. By delving into the past, it should be possible to explain why certain phenomena presented in the films are so popular. All in all, this work tries to understand the relations between fiction and the actual problems, currently discussed in the U.S.
