Tématem bakalářské práce je vzdělávání odsouzených ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody ve Věznici Ostrava Heřmanice. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Cílem teoretické části je za pomoci odborné literatury vymezit témata z oblasti penologie, jako je trest odnětí svobody, výkon trestu a také historie vězeňství. Práce se také zabývá charakteristikou Věznice Ostrava Heřmanice a nabídkou vzdělávacích aktivit. Dále charakterizuje vzdělávání dospělých, a to jak obecně, tak ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Práce dále představuje programy zacházení, motivaci ke vzdělávání a následnou resocializaci. Praktická část obsahuje prozkoumání možností vzdělávání odsouzených ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody za pomoci kvalitativního výzkumu, který byl realizován prostřednictvím rozhovorů s odsouzenými. Výzkumným šetřením bylo zjištěno, co odsouzené motivuje ke vzdělávání, jak hodnotí způsob práce lektorů a sami sebe v roli studenta.

The education of convicts serving a custodial sentence in Ostrava-Heřmanice Prison is the topic of this bachelor thesis. It is divided into the theoretical and practical parts. The definition of topics from the field of penology, such as custodial sentence or imprisonment, is the aim of the theoretical part, as well as the prison history. Research literature has been used for that purpose. Characteristics of Ostrava-Heřmanice Prison and its education activities offer is presented too. Next, the education of adults is characterized both generally and of those serving a custodial sentence. Next, treatment programs, motivation for education and subsequent resocialization are presented. The qualitative research of education possibilities for convicts serving a custodial sentence is presented in the practical part. The research was conducted through interviews with convicts. Results comprise facts about motivation of convicts' self-education, their evaluation of lectors' work and self-evaluation in the role of students.
