Tato bakalářská práce popisuje vybraná specifika života lidí s homosexuální orienta-cí. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na varianty sexuálních orientací, gender a vybrané oblasti, které jsou typické právě pro osoby s homosexuální orientací. Mezi tyto oblasti jsou zařaze-ny: legislativa, coming-out, diskriminace, mýty o homosexualitě, rodinný život, podpůrné skupiny určené pro LGBT komunitu a sexuálně přenosné choroby, které jsou obecně s LGBT komunitou spojeny.
Praktická část práce se zabývá zkušenostmi participantů s uvědoměním si homose-xuální orientace, jejich coming-outem, zkušenostmi s diskriminací na základě příslušnosti k LGBT komunitě a způsobem prevence přenosu sexuálně přenosných onemocnění. Jako zdroj dat pro praktickou část sloužil výzkumný vzorek, který tvořilo pět participantů ve věku 20-25 let.

This bachelor thesis describes specific parts of lives of people with homosexual ori-entation. The theoretical part focuses on varieties of sexual orientations, genders and speci-fic areas, which are typical for gay people. Among these specifications are legislation, co-ming-out, discrimination, myths surrounding gay people, family life, supporting groups for the LGBTQ community and sexually transmitted diseases which are in general connected to this community.
The practical part focuses on the life experiences of the participants, on their co-ming-out, experiences with the discrimination on the basis of belonging to the LGBT community, and the ways of prevention of the sexually transmitted diseases. Data for the practical part are consisting of five participants in the age of 20 to 25.
