Annotation Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na popis kurkuminu, jeho vlastnosti a využití. Kurkumin je barvivo přírodního původu, které se vyrábí z oddenků rostliny Curcuma longa, a to extrakcí vysušeného prášku vyrobeného z kořene rostliny s vhodným rozpouštědlem jako je aceton, ethylacetát, methanol, ethanol a hexan. Má své využití v potravinářství jako barvivo E100. Využívá se také v lidovém léčitelství, k potlačení růstu mikroorganismů, hmyzu a larev kvůli svým antimikrobiálním, insekticidním a larvicidním účinkům. Díky významným antioxidačním účinkům se tato látka testuje i pro využití ve farmacii.
Annotation in English Bachelor's thesis is focused on description, properties and utilization of curcumin. Curcumin is a natural colorant which is extracted from the dried root of the rhizome of Curcuma longa. Dried powder is made from the rhizome that is extracted with a suitable solvent such as acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethanol, and hexane. Curcumin is used in food industry as food colorant E100. It is also used in folk medicine, as an inhibitory agent for microorganisms, insects and larvae, thanks to its antimicrobial, insecticidal and larvacidal properties. Due to its significant antioxidant effects, this substance is also tested for use in pharmacology.
