Management znalostí je v současné době jednou z nejdiskutovanějších problematik týkajících se vývojových trendů ve společnosti. Disertační práce se zabývá managementem znalostí a jednotlivými částmi managementu znalostí, kterými jsou tvorba, identifikace, sdílení, porozumění a využití znalostí v praxi.
Literární rešerše je selektována do tří základních částí. První část poukazuje na teoretické koncepce managementu znalostí, druhá část se věnuje úrovním managementu znalostí a třetí část je věnována teoretickým konspektům uplatnění managementu znalostí v praxi. Hlavním cílem disertační práce je na základě teoretického a terénního výzkumu popsat aktivity spojeny s managementem znalostí vedoucí k tvorbě, identifikaci, distribuci, sdílení, uskladnění a využívání znalostí, zejména na organizační úrovni. Součástí tohoto výzkumu je i zjištění a identifikace, jakým způsobem mohou být tyto znalosti rozvíjeny a využity. Součástí výzkumného problému je i stanovení hypotéz. V závěru jsou výsledky výzkumného šetření porovnávány se stanovenými hypotézami. Výsledkem je potvrzení, resp. zamítnutí stanovené hypotézy.

At present, Knowledge Management is one of the most often discussed problems and issues as it relates to development trends is societies and enterprises. My dissertation is concerned with Knowledge Management and the individual components of the management of knowledge - its creation, identification, sharing and dissemination, understanding it and its exploitation in everyday working practice (i.e. praxis). I have selected my approach to research of the appropriate literature so as to break this down into three fundamental sections. The first is related to the theoretical conceptions of Knowledge Management; the second is devoted to the various levels of Knowledge Management; and the third section is devoted to the theoretical prospects of applying Knowledge Management in working practice/praxis. The main aim of the dissertation is, on the basis of both theoretical and field research to describe those activities which are linked to Knowledge Management and which lead to creation, identification, sharing and dissemination, storage, and especially the exploitation of this set of knowledge at the organisational level. A further component of this research is the investigation and identification of the ways and means by which this knowledge can be further developed and exploited. Another component of the research problem is the establishment of a set of working hypotheses. In the Conclusions, I set out the results of the field research investigations I undertook and compare these with the pre-set hypotheses. Their outcome is the confirmation or, as the case may be, the overturning of the hypotheses.
