Tato práce obsahuje kromě jednotlivých účinků médií především případy účinků společenských vlivů na děti a mládež, v prvé řadě vlivů médií, a to zejména televize. Působení médií na děti a mládež je v současné době jeden z nejvýznamnějších společenských vlivů na utváření osobnosti dítěte i adolescenta.
Produkty působení těchto vlivů se pak promítají do různých oblastí života, jako jsou například: škola, rodina atp. Okrajově se v této práci hovoří i o věkovém determinismu a problematice násilí ve sdělovacích prostředcích, případně i o dopadu těchto účinků na vytváření osobnosti dětí a mládeže.

In addition to the individual effects of the media, this work above all deals with the effects of social influences on children and young people, in the first place the effects of the media, of television in particular. At the present time, the effects of the on children and young people rank among the most important social influences that form the personality of child and an adolescent.
The products of these effects are then reflected in various areas of life, such as school, family and suchlike. This work also deals with age determinism and violence in the media, possibly with the impacts of these phenomena on the formation of the personalities of children and young people, although these matters are peripheal importance in the work.
