Annotation in English This bachelor's thesis analyses features of feminism in the novel Sister Carrie by American writer Theodore Dreiser. The first part of this thesis is focused on the historical background at the turn of the 20th century called the Gilded Age. The following two parts examine the life of Theodore Dreiser and the evolvement of the feminism, predominantly in American society. The last part should suggest in which ways could be the protagonist considered a feminist. The aim of this thesis is to examine whether or not the protagonist of the novel shows any features of feminism.
