Bakalářská práce se zabývá anglickými idiomy v obchodním jazyce. Práce předkládá výsledky kvalitativního průzkumu provedeného mezi čtyřmi českými lektory a čtyřmi rodilými mluvčími, kteří vyučují anglický jazyk a mají zkušenost s vedením hodin obchodní angličtiny.

The bachelor thesis focuses on idioms used in business English. It presents results of qualitative survey that was carried out among four Czech and four English native speakers who work as English teachers and teach business English classes. It describes their teaching experience, perception of English business idioms, approach towards their interpretation, the use of idioms in business textbooks, advantages and disadvantages of Czech translation, and possible ways of their explanation in the class. Three methods were used to carry out the survey: questionnaire, interview and direct observation in the class. Direct observation in respondent's classes and interview with teachers was made after collecting questionnaires in order to complement the collected data. The practical part briefly introduces English as the language of a global business and provides theoretical background concerning idioms. This includes definition of idioms from dictionaries and by linguists, classification of idioms, their features and origin. It also presents four groups of selected business idioms that are examined in the practical part, too.
