Design and development of the author's collection of footwear, that is influenced by the tradition of the shoe industry in Czechoslovakia between the years 1945-1989.
Dizertačná práca ponúka stručný, ale ucelený pohľad do pomerne širokej problematiky dizajnu obuvi v Československu v rokoch 1945 až 1989. V prvej časti je vysvetlená štruktúra znárodneného priemyslu a premeny, ktorými odvetvie prešlo počas skúmaného obdobia. Následne sa práca zameriava na postavenie samotného dizajnu v ekonomickej sústave plánovaného hospodárstva. Všíma si jednotlivých dizajnérov, ale hlavne výsledky ich práce, teda obuv samotnú. Práca selektívne poukazuje na zaujímavé modely obuvi, z ktorých viaceré majú právo byť označované za ikony svojej doby.
Praktická časť následne priamo nadväzuje na teoretický výskum. Hlavnou úlohou bolo vytvoriť funkčný prototyp obuvi, ktorý je inšpirovaný výstupmi z teoretickej časti práce. Predstavená kolekcia bola vyvinutá v spolupráci s domácimi výrobcami obuvi.
Annotation in English
The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the development of the footwear industry in former Czechoslovakia between the years 1945 and 1989. In the first part the structure of nationalized industry is described as well as the process of changes that the industry went through during that period. Consequently, the paper focuses on the role of designers in an environment of socialist economy and it also presents a list of the most significant designs produced over this time period.
The practical part is closely connected with the theoretical part. Its main aim was to develop a functional prototype that is inspired by the findings from the theoretical research. The presented footwear collection was developed in collaboration with local footwear producers.
