Bakalářská práce pojednává o problematice demence. Teoretická část je zaměřena na stáří a jeho aktuální problémy. Zabýváme se demencí, jejím výskytem, příčinami a příznaky. Popi-sujeme jednotlivá stádia a typy demence, možnosti prevence a léčby. V teoretické části se zaměřujeme na péči o seniora s demencí. Představujeme zásady správné komunikace a akti-vizace. Praktická část seznamuje s výsledky dotazníkového šetření, jehož cílem bylo zjistit informovanost veřejnosti o této chorobě.

Bachelor thesis deals with the issue of dementia. The theoretical part is focused on the age and its current problems. We concern with dementia, its prevalence, causes and symptoms. We describe different stages and types of dementia, prevention and treatment options. The theoretical part focuses on care for the elderly with dementia. We introduce the principles of correct communication and activation.
