V této bakalářské práci se zabývám překladem slovníčku přiloženého k učebnici New Cutting Edge (Upper Intermediate). Dále je také přeložen seznam slovíček, který byl k učebnici zaslán přímo nakladatelstvím Longman. Teoretická část pracuje s překladem obecně - jeho historií a významem a vysvětluje pojmy, které jsou pro překlad klíčové, definuje také slovo a jeho význam. Další část je pak věnována různým překladatelským postupům, které jsou uvedeny na všeobecných příkladech. Praktická část obsahuje popis postupů, které byly použity, jak při překladu přiloženého slovníčku, tak i při překladu seznamu slovíček. Poukazuje také na specifika překladu slovníčku jako podpůrného materiálu k učebnici a uvádí specifické příklady přímo ze slovníčku.

This bachelor thesis is focused on the translation of the mini - dictionary that is attached to the textbook New Cutting Edge (Upper Intermediate). Then it is also focused on the translation of the wordlist that was sent by the Longman publisher. The theoretical part works with the translation from a general point of view - with its history and importance and it explains the terminology that is the key for the translation. It also defines the word and its meaning. The next part is dedicated to the different translation procedures that are showed on the general examples. The practical part consists of the description of the procedures that were used during the translation of the mini-dictionary as well as during the translation of the wordlist. It also shows the specifics of the translation of the dictionary as a supporting material for the textbook and brings in the specific examples from the mini - dictionary.
