Annotation in English In this thesis were studied gellan-degrading bacteria Verrucomicrobium sp. GD which is characterized by the formation of prosthecae. It was experimentally found that the formation of prosthecae is the microscopically visible during the cultivation of culture in liquid mineral medium with gellan. Furthermore, strain GD was tested for its flatulent leguminous carbohydrates degrading ability. The main part was devoted to testing the skills of Verrucomicrobium sp. GD to inhibite the biofilm formation of bacteria, which may cause serious infections. Experiment result revealed that the bacterial strain GD decreased biofilm formation in Staphylococcus aureus CCM 3953 and in some isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, namely Pseudomonas aeruginosa FT 1, FT 2 and FT 3.
