Bakalářská práce se zabývá především vymezením pojmů umírání, smrt a potřeby umírajících pacientů. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na paliativní péči a potřeby umírajících pacientů a jeho rodiny. Praktickou část tvoří kvantitativní výzkum, zaměřen na uspokojování potřeb umírajících pacientů. Pro sběr dat bylo použito dotazníkového šetření. Analýza a interpretace získaných dat poskytuje informace o názorech a postojích všeobecných sester na vybraných odděleních, při péči o umírající pacienty.

Bachelor thesis deals namely with defining the notions of dying, death and the needs of dying patients. The theoretical part address mainly the palliative care and the needs of dying patients and their family. The practical part comprises a quantitative research aimed at satisfying the needs of the dying patients. For data collection we used a questionnaire survey. The analysis and interpretation of the obtained data provide information about opinions and attitudes of nurses in the selected departments when satisfying the needs of the dying patients.
