The student presented her bachelor thesis.
Q: Trčková: Would other representatives of French and American naturalism bear a similar comparison? Give examples. A: Yes, all the examples are mentioned in my thesis, they are more philosophers. Q: Trčková: Did French and/or American naturalism have any direct consequences in the two countries? A: I would say no, it serves as an inspiration for other generation. It is a philosophical approach. I do not have proper data to support this idea. Q: Fonfárová: What major differences can you identify between French and American naturalism? A: Firstly time, French came earlier, secondly the way of distribution and lastly, the narrator, Zola uses humans, whereas London animals, it is innovative I would say. Q: Fonfárová: You claim that American naturalism promoted early vision of socialism. Can we say the same thing about realism? Why/why not? A: Yes there are some similar features. But social realism is more about communism and it is not correspondent to my thesis. Q: Bell: Do you read French? A: No. I read it in English. Q: Trčková: Do the books refer to God? A: No, they concentrate on empirical facts, philosophy and psychology.
