Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá neobyčejnou osobností sociální pedagogiky minulého století, Přemyslem Pittrem. V teoretické části si definujeme pojem sociální pedagogika a jaké jsou kompetence a uplatnění sociálního pedagoga v současnosti. V druhé kapitole teoretické části více nahlédneme do života, díla a způsobu výchovy Přemysla Pittra. Popíšeme si, jaký byl jeho přínos pro společnost v době válečné i poválečné. Praktická část bakalářské práce zjišťuje pomocí kvantitativního výzkumu povědomí veřejnosti, konkrétně vybraných skupin respondentů, o této neobyčejné osobnosti minulého století. Cílem výzkumu je tedy zjistit, jaké je povědomí veřejnosti o Přemyslu Pittrovi, zda je demokratický způsob výchovy, který zastával, možný aplikovat i na dnešní mládež, a zda by měli pedagogové v budoucnu navázat na jeho práci v oblasti výchovy.

This thesis deals with the extraordinary personality of social pedagogy of the last century, Přemysl Pitter. In the theoretical section, we define the concept of social pedagogy and what are the powers and role of a social pedagogue at present. The second chapter of the theoretical part provides an insight into the life, work and ways of education Přemysl Pitter. We will also describe his contribution to the society during the war and post-war periods. The practical part of this thesis investigates the public awareness, specifically with selected groups of respondents, about this important personality of the last century. The aim of the research is to find out what the public awareness of the extraordinary personality of Přemysl Pitter is, whether his democratic way of education can be applied to today's youth, and whether the teachers in the future should follow his example in the field of education.
