Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá hospodařením města Prostějova v letech 2006 - 2008 a hledá možnosti ke zlepšení tohoto hospodaření. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, část teoretickou a analytickou.
Teoretická část je zaměřena na objasnění základních pojmů týkajících se obce, jejich orgánů a hospodaření. V návaznosti na teoretickou část byla provedena analýza hospodaření města Prostějova. Pro tyto účely byly využity rozpočty a závěrečné účty města z let 2006 - 2008.
V závěru mé práce se také zabývám projektem, který by měl být v letošním roce ve městě Prostějově dokončen.

This bachelor´s work deals with the management of the town Prostějov between years 2006 - 2008 and it tries to find out possibilities for an improvement of this management. This work is divided into two parts, the theoretical and the analytic part.
The theoretical part is aimed to the elucidation of the basic terms dealing with the municipality, the authorities and economy. Consequently on the theoretical part there was made economy analysis of the town Prostějov. For these purposes were used budgets and closing accounts of this town in years 2006 - 2008.
In conclusion of my work I deal with the project, which should be finished in the town this year.
Public administration, municipal authorities, municipality, the budget of the municipality, municipality´s incomes and costs, the structure of possession, the debt service, project.
