Předkládaná diplomová práce pojednává o akademickém úspěchu a jeho determinantech u studentů, konkrétně pak studentů pomáhajících profesí. Teoretická část této práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol, které pojednávají o akademickém úspěchu. Vymezujeme zde, jak je na tuto problematiku pohlíženo v české i světové literatuře. Dále zde definujeme faktory akademického úspěchu, podrobněji se pak věnujeme třem z těchto faktorů, kterými jsou engagement, self-efficacy a autoregulace učení. V neposlední řadě vymezujeme také výzkumy, které byly v této oblasti uskutečněny. V praktické části přinášíme výsledky kvantitativní výzkumu, který byl realizován za pomoci dotazníkového šetření. To bylo prováděno u studentů pomáhajících profesí na vybrané univerzitě v České republice. Naším cílem bylo zjistit, jaký existuje vztah mezi akademickým úspěchem a jeho třemi determinanty - engagementem, self-efficacy a autoregulací učení.

The submitted diploma thesis deals with academic success and its determinants for students, specifically students of helping professions. The theoretical part of this work is divided into three chapters, which discuss academic success. Here we define how this issue is viewed in Czech and world literature. Furthermore, we define the factors of academic success, then we deal in more detail with three of these factors, which are engagement, self-efficacy and self-regulation of learning. Last but not least, we also define the research that has been carried out in this area. In the practical part we present the results of quantitative research, which was carried out with the help of a questionnaire survey. This was done for students of helping professions at a selected university in the Czech Republic. Our aim was to find out what is the connection between academic success and its three determinants - engagement, self-efficacy and self-regulation of learning.
