Tato Bakalářská práce pojednává o jednom z nejznámějších amerických svátků - dnu Díkůvzdání. Je rozdělena do dvou stěžejních částí. První část je teoretická, kde je vysvětlen historický vývoj tohoto dnu a jeho tradiční oslavy a zásahy některých amerických prezidentů do určení doby oslav. Další součástí teoretického bloku je porovnání vývoje cen typických pochutin dne Díkůvzdání a jak se cenová relace vyvíjela od doby, kdy výzkum cen potravin probíhal tj. od roku 1986. Součástí praktického bloku je dotazníkové šetření, které bylo zaměřeno na obyvatele Spojených států amerických v souvislosti s jejich znalostmi o historii tohoto svátku a jejich názorech na danou problematiku.

This Bachelor Thesis concentrates on one of the most famous American holiday - the Thanksgiving Day. The Thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one called Theory contains historical facts about this day and its traditional celebration. Furthermore there are mentioned presidents of the USA who had affected the process of becoming a national holiday. Another part of the Theory is comparison of prices of main Thanksgiving dishes and price’s development since such survey began in 1986. The second part called Analysis includes questionnaire based survey which target the citizens of the USA and their relation and knowledge about Thanksgiving Day.
