Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na postoje vysokoškolských studentů k fenoménům suicidia a sebeobětování. V teoretické části, která je rozdělena na oblast sebevražd a oblast sebeobě-tování, jsou vymezeny základní pojmy týkající se této problematiky. U sebevražd je popi-sována jejich historie, druhy suicidia, příčiny tohoto jevu, faktory, které hrají roli v sebevražedném chování a jednání, jsou v ní zmíněny způsoby suicidálního jednání. Oblast bakalářské práce, pojednávající o sebeobětování, uvádí vymezení tohoto pojmu vůči suici-diu, postoj jedinců k sebeobětování v různých dobách a problematiku přijetí nejvyšší oběti z mnoha aspektů. Teoretická část práce dále analyzuje čin Jana Palacha a jeho následovní-ků. Praktická část se věnuje postojům dnešních studentů vysokých škol k životu, vnímání jeho hodnoty a na události roku 1969. Cílem práce je zmapovat postoj studentů vysokých škol vůči suicidiu a sebeobětování a zjistit, jaké faktory se mohly podílet na tvorbě těchto postojů.

The bachelor´s work is aimed at the university students´ standpoints towards the phenome-non of a suicide and self-sacrifice. In the theoretical part ? which is divided into the area of suicides and that of self-sacrifice ? the basic notions concerning this topic are defined. Within the framework of suicides it is described their history, kinds of suicides, the reasons of this phenomenon, factors playing an important role in suicidal behavior and proceedings. There are also mentioned the ways of suicidal proceedings in it. The part of a bachelor´s work dealing with self-sacrifice introduces the definition of this notion in comparison to suicide, the attitude of individuals towards self-sacrifice in various periods of history and problems of accepting the top sacrifice from various aspects. Then the theoretical part of work analyses the act of Jan Palach and his followers. The practical part is devoted to the standpoints of present university students towards life perceiving its value and towards the events in 1969. The target of this work is the monitoring of the university students atti-tude towards suicide and self-sacrifice and find out which factors could participate on the formation of these attitudes.
