Výpočetní technika se dnes již stala nedílnou součástí života našich dětí a mládeže. Děti a mládež se s počítači setkávají na každém kroku a významnou část svého volného času tráví právě u počítače. Teoretická část této práce se snaží shrnout problematiku nejpoužívanějších počítačových aktivit, vymezení základních pojmů, problematiku volného času dětí a mládeže a popisuje možnosti využití, přínos i nebezpečí počítačů pro tuto skupinu obyvatel.
V praktické části je popsán samotný výzkum, který se uskutečnil mezi žáky základní školy a mezi studenty gymnázia a jehož hlavním cílem je poskytnout bližší pohled na strukturu a frekvenci počítačových aktivit dětí a mládeže.

Computer equipment has become an indivisible part of the lives of our children and teenagers. Children and teenagers meet with computers at every turn and it is at the computer where they spend a significant part of their free time. The theorethical part of this thesis tries to summarize the issue of most widely used computer activities, to provide definitions of basic terms, to introduce problems of free time of children and teenagers and describes possibilities of utilization, benefits and dangers of computers affecting this group of people.
The practical part gives an account of the research itself, which was carried out among primary school pupils and secondary school students and its main aim is to provide a closer insight into the structure and frequency of children's and teenagers' computer activities.
