Záznam průběhu obhajoby
The student presented his bachelor thesis.
Q, Trušník: Why are most of the ESL study materials based on BrE even if AmE is so much more wide-spread? A: Because BrE is perceived as a variety for learning. AmE is perceived as for entertainment.
Q, Čechová: On page 39 you seem to claim that perception and awareness of differences are the same phenomena. Would you be able to rephrase in order to improve your data interpretation in this particular section? A: Should have used "familiar" instead.
Q, Čechová: In your introduction you mention a language phenomenon in which a foreign language word is used/accommodated by users of a different language, however its use follows grammar rules of the new language (e.g. conjugation, declination, etc.). Would you be able to name and characterise this process and find more examples regarding English to Czech word "adoption"? A: A loan-word, a borrowing. Phonetic transcription, verbal suffixes.
Q, Machová: How about the proficiency? A: In a simple way, students do not know how to divide their knowledge. I used paper form, went to the lecture and explained how to proceed. All 5 faculties were involved.
Q, Trušník: The section about phonetic rules, why did you not use IPA? A: I simplified it, not all students can read the IPA transcription.
