Obsahem této práce je problematika vymezení venkova ve Zlínském kraji. V úvodu teore-tické části se nachází popis základních pojmů, používaných v této práci. V teoretické části jsou dále stručně popsány způsoby vymezení venkova jak v Evropské unii (vymezení podle Organizace pro hospodářskou spolupráci a rozvoj a Evropského statistického úřadu), tak i v České republice (vymezení podle Českého statistického úřadu). Dalším bodem teoretické části je popis různých způsobů provedení typologie venkovského prostoru. V praktické části byl nejprve stručně charakterizován Zlínský kraj. Dalším bodem bylo rozdělení území kraje na venkovský a městský prostor. V praktické části se nacházejí také kritéria použitá pro vymezení venkova a mapy, které názorně odráží obsah textu. V závěru této práce je rozdělení typicky venkovských obcí ve Zlínském kraji do specifických kategorií, podle míry závislosti na pomoci ze strany kraje.

The content of this work is the definition of rural in Zlín Region. At the beginning of the theoretical part there´s a description of the basic concepts used in this work. The theoretical part describes the definition of rural in the European Union (according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development definition and definition by the European Statistical Office) and in the Czech Republic (definition by the Czech Statistical Office). Another point of the theoretical part is the description of the different methods of im-plementation of rural typology. In the practical part was briefly characterized Zlín Region. Another point was to divide the region into a rural and urban areas. In the practical part there are also the criteria used to define rural and maps, which clearly reflects the content of the text. At the end of this work there´s the integration typically rural municipalities in the Zlín region into specific categories, depending on the degree of assistance from the region.
