Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá rodinou jako základní sociální skupinou. Snaží se popsat základní typy a charakteristiky rodin v soudobé společnosti i v jejich historických proměnách. Popisuje základní funkce, které rodina plní v životě jedince a společnosti, a výchovou jedince v rodině. Zabývá se vlivem rodinného prostředí na dítě, rolí muže a ženy v rodině a jejich významem.
Tato práce se snaží vystihnout zásadní změny v rodinném životě v současné české společnosti. Poukazuje zejména na změnu ženské role v rodině v důsledku emancipace a celospolečenského zrovnoprávňování žen v průběhu posledních let.

This bachelor thesis deals with family as the basic social unit. Basic family types and characteristics in contemporary society are described, as well as changes in the family over time. The work also depicts essential functions of family in the life of an individual and in the society, education of an individua in family, while exploring the influence of family environment on the child, and the role of man and woman in the family.
The thesis aims at defining crucial changes in family life in contemporary Czech society. It concentrates especially on changes in the role of woman in the family as a consequence of emancipation and overall equalization of women in recent years.
