Analysis of Factors Influencing Financial Management of Small and Medium Enterprises and A Proposal for Its Utilisation to Increase Their Performance and Competitive Abilities
Malé a střední podniky (dále MSP) tvoří v současnosti nejrozsáhlejší podnikatelskou oblast ve vyspělých ekonomikách. Problematika MSP je aktuální a hodna pozornosti, protože jsou vystaveny přímým vlivům vnějšího ekonomického prostředí, a přímé konfrontaci s ním, a v konkurenčním prostředí mohou uspět jen ty podniky, které jsou pro své rozhodování a řízení schopny účinného finančního řízení. Cílem práce je formulovat teoretické aspekty finančního řízení malých a středních podniků při využití analýzy faktorů, které toto řízení ovlivňují a konečně také formulovat některá doporučení pro reporting v malých a středních podnicích. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována zhodnocení řady relativních finančních ukazatelů pomocí statistické analýzy souboru účetních výkazů reálných malých a středních podniků. Analýza přináší nový pohled na posouzení vypovídací schopnosti jednotlivých ukazatelů.

Small and medium enterprises (further referred to as SMEs) represent the most extended entrepreneurial sphere in developed economies at present. The problems of SMEs are topical and deserve attention because SMEs are exposed to direct influences of the economic environment and direct confrontation with it, and only those enterprises can be successful in competitive environment that can have effective financial management for their decision making and management. The aim of the dissertation is to evaluate the position of SMEs in the present economy, to formulate theoretical aspects of financial management of these enterprises and finally also to formulate some recommendations for reporting in SMEs. Special attention has been paid to evaluation of a number of relative financial indicators using statistical analysis of a set of financial statements of really existing small and medium enterprises. The analysis brings a new attitude to the assessment of informative abilities of individual indicators.
