Diplomová práce se zabývá komunikací neslyšících osob při jednání s veřejnými institucemi, jako příklad byly použity Okresní správa sociálního zabezpečení ve Zlíně, Úřad práce ve Zlíně a Magis-trát města Zlína. V teoretické části práce jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy, metody a specifika komu-nikace neslyšících osob a způsoby komunikace mezi neslyšícími lidmi a zaměstnanci uvedených úřadů. Výzkumná část je kombinací kvalitativního a kvantitativního výzkumu. Kvalitativní výzkum je postaven na rozhovorech s neslyšícími lidmi a hodnotí, jak vnímají komunikaci se zaměstnanci jednotlivých úřadů. Kvantitativní část výzkumu zjišťuje pomocí dotazníkového šetření, do jaké míry jsou zaměstnanci úřadů schopni komunikovat s neslyšícími lidmi.

The thesis focuses on communication of the hearing impaired when dealing with public institutions, including examples from the District Social Services Office in Zlin, the Labour Office in Zlin and the Zlin District Hall. The thesis? theoretical portion explains the basic terminology, the methods and the specific communication challenges for the hearing impaired, and the various methods of communication between the hearing impaired and the employees of the above mentioned institutions. The research portion of the thesis combines qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative research is based on interviews with the hearing impaired, and it evaluates how they perceive their communication with the employees of the respective institutions. The qualitative portion of the research uses a questionnaire to assess the ability of the office employees to communicate with the hearing impaired.
