Diplomové práce je rozčleněna do tří kapitol, první kapitola je věnována vymezení pojmů vztahujících se k problematice náhradní výchovy, zejména pak definování výchovy, pro-středí a rodiny jako základního výchovného subjektu. Druhá kapitola je věnována náhradní výchově, jejímu historickému vývoji a současnému stavu v České republice. Přibližuje systém náhradní výchovy v České republice, organizační strukturu a příslušné legislativní normy. Část kapitoly je věnována specifikaci náhradní výchovy v zahraničí. Třetí kapitola je zaměřena na ústavní výchovu České republice. Definuje ústavní a ochrannou výchovu, zařízení pro výkon ústavní a ochranné výchovy, podrobněji specifikuje ústavní výchovu v dětských domovech. Jedna z částí kapitoly je zaměřena na proces transformace a před-pokládaných legislativních změn v ústavní výchově.
Empirická část diplomové práce je zaměřena na zmapování odborných postojů pedagogic-kých pracovníků působících v zařízení ústavní výchovy na předkládané transformační změny v oblasti institucionální výchovy.

The Diploma thesis is concentrating on the alternative care in the Czech Republic, in detail it deals with one of the forms ? institutional care.
The theoretical part of the works is divided into three chapters, the first chapter is dedicat-ed to the definition of terms connected to the issues of alternative care, especially the defi-nition of care, environment and family as the basic subject of care. The second chapter is dedicated to the alternative care, its progression and current situation in the Czech Repub-lic. It explains the system of alternative care in the Czech Republic, its structure of organi-zation and the relevant legal standards. Part of the chapter deals with the specifics of the alternative care abroad. The third chapter focuses on the institutional care in the Czech Republic. Defines children´s home and protective care, specifies in detail the process of upbringing in the children´s homes (orphanages). An important part of this chapter concen-trates on the transformation process and expected legislation changes of the institutional care.
The empirical part of the diploma thesis focuses on maping the expert approach of peda-gogue staff working in the children ´s care institutions in connection with the introduced changes in the sphere of institutional care.
