Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývá institucí manželství, tématem v dnešní době poměrně často diskutovaným. Výzkumným problémem popisným jsou názory a postoje žen a mužů, žijících v dlouhodobém manželském svazku, na instituci manželství. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit, jaké názory mají ženy a muži na manželství jako takové, v čem vidí jeho smysl, ale i jeho negativa, jak hodnotí vzájemné soužití v manželství, a co jim manželství přináší. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny pojmy, které s problematikou manželství významně souvisí. Pozornost byla věnována rodině, funkcím rodiny a vývoji rodiny od tradiční po rodinu postmoderní. Dále jsou charakterizovány právní vztahy mezi manželi a pozornost je také zaměřena na manželství staršího středního věku, jelikož do této kategorie spadá převážná většina respondentů výzkumu. Pro zjištění požadovaných skutečností byl zvolen kvantitativní výzkum, technika anonymního dotazníku. V empirické části jsou rozebrány a graficky znázorněny výsledky průzkumu.

The submitted bachelor's thesis discussed the institute of marriage, a fairly frequently discussed topic in today's world. The descriptive research issue is the opinions and standpoints of women and men, living in long-term married relationships, concerning the institute of marriage. The goal of the research is to establish the opinions that women and men have of marriage as such, the purpose they attribute to it, as well as its weak points, how they rate their life together in marriage and what benefits marriage has for them. The theoretical section defines terms that are closely related to the issue of marriage. Attention was given to the family, family functions and family development from the traditional to post-modern point of view. The legal relations between husband and wife are also characterized and further attention is focused on marriage between older middle-aged people, as most of the respondents of the research fall into this category. Quantitative research using the anonymous questionnaire technique was used to establish the required facts. The empirical part analyses and graphically portrays the research results.
