The topic of this thesis is a design of an injection mold for one part of a contactor assembly, specifically the arc shield. New mold is designed to eliminate all risks discussed in the current mold solution. It is mainly about the deformations and flashes of the product. There are briefly described the polymers, their structure and breakdown in the theoretical part of this thesis, there is also an injection molding technology more deeply described in this part and the means of production associated with this technology. The conclusion of the theoretical part introduces the plastic materials in the electric applications, their properties and the testing together with the most used types of plastic materials and the examples of the applications. There is a contactor described in the practical part of this thesis, its function, parts and material, which it is made from. It is discussed the current mold in this section, the risks of the used mold concept in a scope of the part quality. There were chosen the best option from the possible ones in this part of thesis and the new tool was designed to eliminate as much as possible the quality deficiencies of the current solution. Both of the tools are compared together at the end of this thesis by the mold flow analysis and the results were evaluated with regard to part quality and production efficiency.
