V podnikatelských aktivitách firem vzrůstá důležitost řešení problematiky sociální odpovědnosti firem (CSR). Sociální odpovědností firem se tradičně vice zabývají velké firmy, zatím co v malých a středních firmách jí není věnováno tolik pozornosti. Vzhledem k tomu, že malé a střední podniky (MSP) tvoří více než 90 % podnikání ve světě - na Sri Lance přibližně 97 % všeho průmyslu - vzrůstá význam sociální a environmentální odpovědnosti v tomto sektoru. Cílem práce je objasnit specifické bariéry a identifikovat příležitosti pro implementaci sociální odpovědnosti firem (CSR) do managementu malých a středních podniků v podmínkách Sri Lanky.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has increased its importance in correlation to the increased intensity in business activities. CSR has traditionally incorporated into large companies and less attention has been put on the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME's).However SME's make up over 90% of the worldwide business and account for approximately 97% of all industries in Sri Lanka, the growing significance of the SME's has led to an emphasis on their social and environmental impact. The study aims to outline specific barriers and opportunities to implement CSR in SME's with reference to effective management.
