Rodinou se uskutečňuje společenský adaptace dítěte, jeho začleňování do společnosti. Rodina určuje sociální status dítěte a způsob výchovy je pro dítě zázemím, ze kterého bude vycházet, až založí vlastní rodinu. Společnost má eminentní zájem na tom, aby rodinné prostředí bylo prvořadým zdrojem pozitivních výchovných podnětů. V současné společnosti je úloha rodiny těsně spjata s úlohou školy. Škola přispívá svou odbornou péčí k tomu, aby dítě využilo svých schopností a mohlo se pod vedením učitelů plně rozvíjet.
Rodina a škola, jako dvě podstatné sociální instituce procházejí řadou změn. Tyto reformy přinášejí možnost i nutnost změnit úroveň komunikace a spolupráce obou těchto institucí.

Family designates social status child and way upbringing is background for child , from that will go out, till establish a family of one's own. Family and school, as two substantial social institution, are going through series of changes. These reform bringing possibility and necessity change communication level and cooperation of both these institution.
