Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá kulturním a překladatelským porovnáním pěti vybraných menu z čínských restaurací České republiky (Zlín, Brno, Olomouc, Praha a Říčany) a pěti vybraných menu čínských restaurací ze Spojených států amerických (Greenwich, San Francisco, New York City, Los Angeles a Chicago). První část práce je teoretická, zabývající se teorií o rozdílu mezi textem a diskurzem, překladem a menu jakožto žánrem. Druhá část bakalářské práce se zabývá analýzou vybraných menu z kulturního a překladatelského hlediska. Dále následuje analýza často nalezených chyb v menu a jejich možná oprava.

This Bachelor's Thesis deals with the cultural and translatological comparison of five selected menus of Chinese restaurants from the Czech Republic (Zlín, Brno, Olomouc, Prague and Říčany) and five selected menus of Chinese restaurants from the USA (Greenwich, San Francisco, New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago). The first part of the thesis is theoretical, concerned to the theory about the difference between text and discourse, translation, and menu as a genre. The second part of the Bachelor's Thesis deals with the analysis of the selected menus from the cultural and translatological point of view, followed by the analysis of frequent mistakes that were found in the selected menus and their possible corrections.
