Diplomová práce pojednává o problematice integrace mentálně postižených do společnosti. Cílem této práce je přiblížit pojem mentální retardace, popsat specifika výchova a zvláštnosti psychických procesů těchto lidí. Dále popsat vztah mezi sociální pedagogikou a disciplín, které se zabývají mentálně postiženými a v neposlední řadě nastínit možnosti sociálního pedagoga, jak může přispět k řešení tohoto problému. V praktické části se zaměřuji na informovanost žáků na základní škole o pojmu mentální retardace, jestli se o tomto problému učí ve škole a jak se chovají při setkání s osobou s mentálním postižením.

This graduation theses deals with problem how to integrate people with mental disabilities into society. The aim of this work is to explain the koncept of mental retardation, to describle specifity of this people. I try to explain relation between social pedagogy ant other disciplines, which deals with mentaly affected people ant they also try to present posibilities of social pedagogue. How to help with soving this problem. In the practical part of this work I focus on knowledges of elementary school students. I would like to find if they know the concept of mental retardacion, if they learn about this problem at school ant how they behave in contact with mental affected people.

V práci se chci zabývat přístupem k ment. postiženým od historie po současnost, popsat postoje k lidem s ment. postižením v současné společnosti, jaké má společnost předsudky vůči těmto lidem apod. Pokusit se popsat možné problémy se začleňováním do společnosti. Dále nastínit, jak by mohl sociální pedagog působit na tuto skupinu a vést je k co největšímu začlenění do společnosti. Také bych chtěla zmínit, jaká je nyní v ČR podpora integrace - např. legislativa, různé organizace atd.
