V této bakalářské práci je popsána historie vzniku léčiv, od dávné minulosti do dnešní doby, a jednotlivé fáze vývoje léčiv. Další části jsou již zaměřeny na celosvětově nejprodávanější léky posledních let. U těchto léků jsou poté popsány vlastnosti a biologické účinky příslušných látek na lidský organismus a schématicky vyjádřeny možnosti jejich přípravy.

In the present Bachelor thesis the history of drugs, from ancient times until today, and stages of drug development is described. The next parts are focused on the best-selling drugs in the world in recent years. For each of these medicines the properties and biological effects of the substances on the human body and possibilities of their synthesis are also described.
