Vznik ilustrovaných časopisů v minulém století byl nepopiratelným fenoménem
společnosti a její poptávky po informacích. Tato oblast žurnalistiky se rozvíjela
především v souvislosti s rozvojem technologií samotného snímání obrazu a následně
i tisku. Časopisy byly vždy odrazem poptávky ve společnosti, politické
i ekonomické situace. Zároveň je nezpochybnitelné, že jejich kvalita byla vždy
dílem autorů a redaktorů, schopných poptávku a očekávání čtenářů vystihnout
a naplnit. Jejich forma ? obrazová a výtvarná kvalita však byla rovněž ovlivněna
technickou úrovní polygrafického průmyslu a možnostmi distribuce.
Disertační práce Obrazový časopis Mladý svět (1959?1970) popisuje vznik
a první desetiletí existence týdeníku jeho obsah i formu v období šedesátých let
minulého století. Toto období bylo vybráno z důvodu dosud nepopsaného fenoménu
rozvoje společenského obrazového časopisu. Užití částí rozhovorů s ještě
žijícími redaktory a pamětníky, spolu s dobovými dokumenty jsou součástí studie
a následného vyhodnocení, jakým způsobem dosáhl redakční tým věrohodnosti
a úspěchu u čtenářů v celém spektru společenských zájmů a realitě života v šedesátých
letech 20. století v Československu.

The emergence of illustrated magazines in the last century was undeniable phenomenon
of society and its demand for information. This area of journalism and
photo journalism developed primarily in connection with the technological development
of imaging and printing subsequently. The magazines have always functioned
as a reflection of the demand in the society and its political and economic
situation. It is also clear that a magazine quality has always been part of the writers
and editors work and their ability to meet demand and expectations of the readers.
Their visual and artistic form, however, was also influenced by the technical level
of the printing industry and distribution options.
My dissertation Image magazine Young World (1959-70) describes the emergence
and the first decades of the magazine?s content and its form during the
1960s. This period was selected because such a comprehensive study about this
theme has not been published yet. Recorded interviews with editors and witnesses
of this period, along with historical documents are part of the study and the subsequent
assessment of how the editorial team reached the credibility and success
with readers across the diverse spectrum of social interests and the reality of life
in the 1960s of the 20th century in Czechcolovakia.
