Cílem této diplomové práce je návrh konkrétního plánu realizace Univerzity třetího věku a návrh směru, kterým by se mělo vzdělávání seniorů na Univerzitě Tomáše Bati (UTB) ve Zlíně v budoucnu ubírat. Základem je komplexní analýza této organizace. Teoretická část obsahuje základní informace týkající se problematiky volby strategií a tvorby strategického plánu a také návrh a popis modelu použitého při zpracování strategického plánu konkrétní organizace. V praktické části je již zpracována komplexní analýza zvolené organizace - Univerzity třetího věku (U3V) na UTB ve Zlíně, definovány její vize, poslání a cíle a následně formu-lován strategický plán rozvoje. V závěru práce je sestaven přehledný postup implementace tohoto plánu.
Základní ideou celé práce je reálná potřeba najít řešení, jak dosáhnout toho, aby U3V na UTB ve Zlíně mohla nadále rozvíjet svoji činnost a plnit celospolečenský úkol přispívat k naplňování humanitních ideálů společnosti, v souladu s vizí ''učící se společnosti‘‘.

This thesis is aimed at proposing a detailed plan of implementation of the University of the Third Age and the direction to be taken during the education of seniors at Tomas Bata Uni-versity (TBU) in Zlín in future. The most important issue is the comprehensive analysis of this organization. The theoretical part includes basic information concerning the issue of strategy selection and the development of a strategic plan as well as the proposal and the description of the model used during the preparation of the strategic plan of a particular organization.
The practical part involves an already formulated detailed analysis of the selected organiza-tion, i.e. of the University of the Third Age at TBU in Zlín, the defined vision, role and aims thereof, and, subsequently, the strategic development plan prepared. The final part of the thesis contains an outlined procedure of the mentioned plan’s implementation.
The basic idea of the whole thesis is a real need to find a solution for the University of the Third Age at TBU in Zlín in order to guarantee that the University of the Third Age contin-ues to develop its activities and to perform the universal task reg. the ideals of humanity important for the society, which are to be achieved in accordance with the vision of the ''learning society‘‘.
