Tato práce se zaměřuje na anglické zájmeno 'one' a jeho české překlady. Hlavní důraz je kladen na tři hlavní rozdělení tohoto zájmena, a to numerického, zástupného a generického. Práce je založena na teorii použití zájmena 'one', na základě které jsou uvedeny příklady. Některé z příkladů jsou porovnány s českým jazykem za účelem poskytnutí českého překladu. Cílem této práce je popsat jednotlivé funkce zájmena 'one' v angličtině a následně analyzovat podobnosti a rozdíly v českém jazyce a jeho překladech. Následným cílem je ukázat, že 'one' není v angličtině jen neurčitým zájmenem a do češtiny se dá přeložit několika způsoby.

This thesis focuses on pronoun one in English and its Czech translations. The main emphasis is placed on the three main distinctions of the pronoun one, namely numerical, substitute and generic one. The thesis contains a theoretical background of the usage of pronoun one while providing examples. Some of the examples are compared to the Czech language in order to provide Czech translation of one. The aim of this thesis is to describe the different functions of pronoun one in English and then analyze similarities and differences within the Czech language and its translations. The follow-up aim is, to show that one is not always an indefinite pronoun in English and it has various translations in Czech.
