Annotation Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na současný život kanadských Inuitů. Zabývá se závažnými ekonomickými a sociálními problémy, kterým musí Inuité čelit. Dále na základě historických souvislostí poukazuje na následky, jenž zanechal vliv evropských přistěhovalců na tradiční kultuře Inuitů. Hlavní pozornost je však věnována asimilačnímu procesu, který proběhl v druhé polovině minulého století a postavení Inuitů v moderní kanadské společnosti na začátku 21. století.
Annotation in English This bachelor thesis is focused on the current life of the Canadian Inuit. It deals with the most crucial economic and social issues the Inuit have to face. Based on the historical context, there are showed the consequences of the impacts caused by the influence of European newcomers on the Inuit traditional way of life. However, the main focus is concentrated on the assimilation process which took place in the second half of the last century and the status of the Inuit people in the modern Canadian society at the beginning of the 21st century.
