Ve své práci se zabývám současnými názory na postavení a funkci rodiny ve společnosti. Výchova v tradiční rodině se uskutečňuje v určitém prostředí, které je vždy něčím jedinečné. Toto rodinné prostředí je nejvíce důležité vzhledem k tomu, že je prvním prostředím se kterým se dítě setkává, ve kterém vyrůstá a z kterého se potom začleňuje do společnosti. Prostředí je vše hmotné a společenské co dítě obklopuje, kde vyrůstá. Můžeme tento prostor měnit a zlepšovat. Některé prostředí dává dítěti více příležitostí se rozvíjet a uplatnit, podněcuje k činnosti, rozvíjí jeho vlohy. Jiné naopak může jeho zdravý rozvoj brzdit a působit úplně opačně. Na prostředí se dá nahlížet ze svou stran. Ta první je tzv. materiální, kterou charakterizujeme vymezeným prostorem, jeho stavem, věcným vybavením, technikou, přírodními faktory. Druhá stránka je pak tvořena lidmi, kteří se v tomto prostoru nacházejí. Díváme se na ně z hlediska věku, pohlaví, vzdělání, sledujeme vztahy mezi nimi. Tato druhá stránka je pro úspěšný vývoj dítěte důležitější. V jejich budoucím samostatném životě sehrává velkou úlohu právě jejich tzv. sociální dědictví, které si nesou ze svých rodin původních.

In my paper, I am dealing with current attitudes towards position and function of family in the society. Upbringing in a traditional family takes place in a certain environment which is always unique in some way. This family environment is the most important considering the fact that it is the first environment a child experiences, where the child grows up, and from which he/she incorporates him/herself into the society. Environment is everything material and social the child is surrounded by, where the child grows up. This space can be changed and improved. Some environment provides the child with more opportunities to develop and assert, it encourages to be active, it advances the child?s abilities. Another can, on the other hand, hinder his/her healthy development and act completely to the contrary. It is possible to perceive environment from two different points of view. The first is so called material point of view which is characterized by restricted space, its state, material equipment, technology, natural factors. The other point of view constitutes of people who are situated in this space. We look on them with regard to their age, sex, gained education, we watch their interrelationships. This second point of view is more important for a successful development of the child. In children?s future independent lives, their so called social heritage which they entail from their primary families precisely acts its big part.
