Úvod práce popisuje samotný termín a formy eutanazie. Vzhledem k tomu, že v České republice doposud nebyl přijat zákon zohledňující eutanazii ani lékařem asistovanou sebevraždu, i když tato tendence v minulosti již byla, jsou uvedeny návrhy zákonů ČR dříve předložené. Pro lepší vhled do této problematiky je dále popsána eutanatická praxe v Holandsku, Belgii, Švýcarsku a USA s následně uvedenými studiemi zjišťujícími dodržování nastavených předpisů. Práce se také zabývá paliativní medicínou a hospicovou péčí v České republice, a zjišťuje kvalitu v jejím poskytování smrtelně nemocným pacientům.

First chapter describes term of euthanasia and forms of euthanasia. Although in Czech Republic hasn?t been declared the law for euthanasia or suicide through doctor?s assistance, the trend of this did occure in the past. Proposals of similar law in Czech Republic has been put forward in recent. For better understanding following chapters describes euthanasia practices in Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and in the USA with research studies, observing rules. Last chapters describe palliative care, hospice care in Czech Republic and research of quality in giving this care to terminally ill patients.
